Thanks to everyone who came out to the April Nocturna! The warmer weather must have really inspired you because it was one of the most attended and amazing looking crowds we've had since Halloween! We've got some great Nocturna events already scheduled for the next few months, so mark your calendars, tell your friends, pick out a smashing outfit....the next Nocturna will take place on Saturday, 17 May! The May Nocturna will also be the after-party for THE CURE! Also, get your tickets early for the June Nocturna because it will be our biggest anniversary party yet: our TWENTIETH!!! Yes, *20* years of Nocturna will be celebrated on Friday, 13 June (we love that it's on Friday the 13th!) and we have, for the first time ever in Chicago, LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT live in concert that night!!! The weekend of 9 - 11 May is the AMAZING & ENORMOUS Wave-Gotik-Treffen festival in Leipzig, Germany. Quite a few of my US friends have been planning on going to the WGT this year. If you are, don't miss these great official parties called "When We Were Young" happening Friday, Saturday & Sunday nights from midnight until well past sun-up! Free admission to all paid entries to the WGT fest.
Our very own DJ Scary Lady Sarah is spinning at WWWY on the Saturday night (along with Ian P. Christ of many Berlin club & party nights including "Remembrance Daze" and Jakob of Berlin's "Decaydance" & more!)
When We Were Young is held all weekend at the beautiful Volkspalast Leipzig, Prager Strasse 200 (Alte Messe, Halle 16), 04103 Leipzig, Germany.

[ Click for more info about Nocturna- special CURE after-party! ] Nocturna, now in its 19th year, is an 18+ dark alternative dance night held once a month in Chicago. DJ Scary Lady Sarah spins a highly request-driven mix of current & classic goth, industrial, post-punk, deathrock, ethereal, shoegaze, new wave, ebm, darkwave, dark indie & more. It's a lot of fun & you should go! ;)
This night is also the after-party for THE CURE so expect to hear more than our usual dose of Robert Smith & Co.
11pm - 5am / $10 - but half-price admission if you show your ticket from this night's earlier THE CURE concert!

The Atomica Project is a union of downtempo beats and stunning female vocals, amplified by an organic warmth and generally absent from electronic music. Devised in 2004 by programmer/songwriter Wade Alin and vocalist Lauren Cheatham, The Atomica Project made waves in the chillout/electronic music community with their 2005 debut release Metropolitan.
Grayscale, the highly anticipated sophomore release from The Atomica Project, embodies in itself the struggle of its execution. Taking nearly 3 years to complete, Grayscale is loosely based on the dramatic climate of Cheatham and Alin's adopted home of Chicago. Many of the tracks draw parallels between the cinematic storms of the Midwest and the turmoil of inter-personal relationships. Alin's detailed production on Grayscale constructs a more heavily orchestrated, lavish sound that further incorporates organic instrumentation and exemplifies the emotional impact of Lauren Cheatham's delivery. The comparisons that both flattered and diminished the uniqueness of their debut are no longer relevant, as Grayscale defines a sound exclusive to The Atomica Project.

To mark our TWENTIETH year (yes, 20!!!) we are putting together a night that will live on in memories for years to come! Many giveaways & special features to show our appreciation for all the fun, love & support over the years are in store, as well as a special concert performance by a band whose music has filled the Nocturna dance floors for many years! For the first time ever in Chicago, American Gothic Productions proudly presents:
LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT
